- / Managing subscription access, billing cycles, and feature tier entitlements.
- / Maintaining platform security, detecting unauthorised access or abuse, and fulfilling our obligations under Australian law.
We retain your data for the duration of your active account, plus a minimum of seven (7) years following account closure in accordance with Australian recordkeeping obligations. Project data may be retained in anonymised form beyond this period for platform improvement purposes.
03 / Security & Cloud Infrastructure
OZR Consulting employs industry-standard technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal and project data from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data in transit is protected using TLS 1.2 or higher. Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 on secure, access-controlled cloud infrastructure. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel only and is subject to audit logging.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. OZR Consulting makes no absolute warranty of security and users are strongly encouraged to maintain independent local backups of all critical structural project files and JSON model states. In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
04 / Third-Party Integrations & Data Disclosure
OZR Consulting does not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise commercially exploit your personal or project data to third parties. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:
- / Stripe Inc.: Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. Raw card or banking data never passes through or is stored on OZR infrastructure. Stripe's own Privacy Policy governs the handling of your payment data.
- / Cloud Hosting Providers: Infrastructure providers hosting our servers may have incidental access to data at the infrastructure level, bound by data processing agreements aligned with Australian privacy requirements.
- / Analytics Platforms: Anonymised, aggregated usage data may be shared with analytics services solely to improve platform performance and user experience. No personally identifiable information is shared in this context.
- / Legal Obligations: We may disclose data if required to do so by law, court order, or a government authority, or where we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of OZR Consulting, its users, or the public.
We may use strictly anonymised and aggregated structural project data — with all identifying information removed — to improve the accuracy, performance, and calibration of our computational algorithms within OZR Labs. This data cannot be used to identify any individual user or specific project.
05 / Cookies & Analytics
Our website and OZR Labs portal use cookies and similar tracking technologies to maintain session state, enable authenticated access, and improve platform functionality. Cookies may be session-based (deleted when your browser closes) or persistent (retained for a set period). We use the following categories of cookies:
- / Essential Cookies: Required for authentication, session management, and core platform functionality. These cannot be disabled without impairing service.
- / Performance Cookies: Used to collect anonymised data on page load times, error rates, and feature usage to improve the platform.
- / Preference Cookies: Used to remember your display settings, such as dark/light mode preferences.
You may configure your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. Doing so may limit the functionality of certain areas of our platform, including authenticated access to OZR Labs.
06 / Your Privacy Rights
In accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), you have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- / Right of Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you at any time.
- / Right to Correction: You may request that inaccurate or incomplete personal information be corrected. Where we disagree with your correction request, we will note your objection on your record.
- / Right to Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to any legal obligations requiring us to retain certain records.
- / Right to Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.
- / Right to Complain: If you believe we have mishandled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the OAIC at www.oaic.gov.au.
To exercise any of the above rights, please contact us at legal@ozrconsulting.com. We will respond to all verified requests within 30 days.
07 / Compliance with Australian Laws
OZR Consulting operates in full compliance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) as set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), as amended by the Privacy Legislation Amendment (Enhancing Online Privacy and Other Measures) Act 2021. Where applicable, we also adhere to the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) regarding electronic communications and the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth). Users located outside Australia acknowledge that their data may be processed in accordance with Australian law, and by using our services they consent to this.
08 / Data Minimisation & Purpose Limitation
We collect only the data that is necessary for the purposes described in this policy. We will not use your data for secondary purposes that are unrelated or incompatible with the original purpose of collection without first obtaining your explicit consent. If we intend to use data for a new purpose, we will update this Privacy Policy and notify users accordingly via the email address associated with their account.
09 / Professional Use Requirement & OZR Labs Disclaimer
The OZR Labs computational platform is intended exclusively for use by structural engineers and individuals with a working knowledge of structural engineering principles, including but not limited to university-educated engineers, graduate engineers, and practicing structural engineering professionals. Access by individuals with no relevant engineering background or training is strongly discouraged.
By accessing OZR Labs, you confirm that you possess sufficient structural engineering knowledge to independently assess, contextualise, and take responsibility for any output generated by the platform. You further acknowledge that you understand the inherent limitations of computational analysis software and that no automated output replaces the exercise of sound engineering judgement.
All results produced by OZR Labs — including but not limited to finite element analysis outputs, member utilisation ratios, deflection results, load combination summaries, reaction forces, and PDF calculation reports — are provided strictly as computational aids. They do not constitute certified engineering designs, structural certificates, or professional advice of any kind.
OZR Consulting accepts no liability whatsoever for any loss, damage, structural failure, regulatory non-compliance, personal injury, or death arising from the use of, reliance upon, or application of any output generated through OZR Labs, whether or not such outputs have been independently verified by a qualified engineer. Use of the platform and all associated outputs is entirely at the user's own risk.
10 / Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users via email no less than 14 days prior to the change taking effect. Your continued use of the OZR Consulting website or OZR Labs portal following notification of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most current version.
